Newly Commissioned Dermatology and ENT Services Launch Across BLMK
HealthHarmonie is pleased to announce that we have been commissioned to deliver both a new Dermatology Service and a new ENT Service across Bedforshrie, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) ICB.
These services have been designed to improve access to specialist care for adult patients, providing timely assessment and treatment from convenient community settings.
Clinics are now available in:
- Luton
- Leighton Buzzard
- Toddington
Both services are available for patients aged 18 and over.
Bringing Specialist Care Closer to Home
The introduction of these newly commissioned pathways supports the continued shift of appropriate outpatient activity away from acute hospital settings and into community care environments. By delivering consultant-led care locally, patients benefit from shorter waits, reduced travel and care delivered in familiar settings.
This model also supports system-wide efforts to reduce pressure on secondary care, ensuring hospital capacity is reserved for urgent, complex and specialist cases.
Dermatology Service
The Dermatology Service provides assessment, diagnosis and selected skin procedures for adults with a wide range of inflammatory and routine dermatological conditions.
ENT Service
The ENT Service offers specialist assessment and management for adults presenting with common ear, nose and throat conditions that can be safely delivered outside of an acute setting.
As with dermatology, suspected cancer referrals, emergency presentations and patients requiring hospital-level care fall outside the scope of the community pathway. However, any onward referrals required are managed by HealthHarmonie on behalf of General Practice.
Supporting the BLMK System
We look forward to working closely with GP practices and primary care partners across BLMK to deliver high-quality, community-based dermatology and ENT care that improves access, reduces waiting times and enhances patient experience.
