Happy Birthday to our NHS
HealthHarmonie will be marking the anniversary of the NHS and Social Care on the 5 July by taking time out to thank everyone who has helped us over the past six months to help respond to this global pandemic.
2020 has been the most challenging year in NHS history, with NHS and social care staff worked hard to redesign services, recruit tens of thousands more staff and even build hospitals.
None of this would have been possible without the help and support of countless individuals and organisations around the country, from bus drivers and refuse collectors to social care staff and teachers, as well as the public embracing the lockdown measures, staying home, helping their neighbours and washing their hands more often.
The NHS would like to use the anniversary to thank each and every one of them. People are invited to join in applause for all the helpers and all those who have supported you through recent months at 5pm on the 5th of July and then stay out and chat to neighbours over a drink, a cup of tea or a picnic.
On the 4th of July iconic landmarks including the Royal Albert Hall, Blackpool Tower and Wembley Arch will be illuminated in blue as part of tributes to NHS staff.
We are asking the whole everyone to join us at 5pm on 5 July for a final ‘big clap’ for all those who matter to you and who have supported you through recent months. After this, why not stay out a while longer to chat to your neighbours, friends or family over a drink, a cup of tea or a picnic.
